mia at muir woods

A couple weeks ago, my little family ventured west to California for my cousin’s wedding.  We spent a few days in Saulsalito and then the remainder of our trip in San Fran.  While there, we spent a morning walking Muir Woods in the rain.  Even though we had soaked clothes, frizzy hair, and a broken umbrella, I’d call our time there an absolute success.  The redwood trees are beyond magnificant—like nothing you’ve seen before.  This place is magical, peaceful, and truly a gift.

I couldn’t have imagined such an incredible place.  The trees were so tall, it was as if they were scraping the sky.  As we trudged through the puddles, Mia and I stopped to hear the serene trickle of the stream that runs through the woods.  We heard birds singing their beautiful song.  Mia imagined fairies living in the crevices of the giant trees, flying from leaf to leaf spreading their pixie dust.  It was a place where you can go to feel a little bit of peace and appreciate all that the Earth has to offer us.
